BECAUSE NO ONE GETS THROUGH LIFE ALONE
BECAUSE NO ONE GETS THROUGH LIFE ALONE
Lupe Acevedo, LEAP Coordinator
Lupe has been in the mental health field for 16 years. She heads our Mobile Shower Unit and is out there in our community everyday working with the homeless population. It is reported that although homelessness has dropped across the nation, Long Island has the third highest homeless population in the country. Lupe’s heart and passion is in seeing that no human being is homeless. Lupe will never be happy until our homeless population is non-existent. Lupe’s degree in psychology gives her a broad knowledge of understanding human behavior and she works well with people who are struggling with every day challenges.

Lupe is a great soccer player and a fitness buff. If you want to know how much protein, fiber, salt, sugar is in what you are eating, you don’t have to read the label, just ask Lupe!

"I'm a recovery person, a survivor of incest and rape. It's not the end of the world as long as you keep seeking and reaching out - HALI's hand was there. HALI showed me that I had something valuable to live for - ME!"
