BECAUSE NO ONE GETS THROUGH LIFE ALONE
PROS  (Personalized Recovery Oriented Services)
Peer-Run Self Help Programs
Personalized Recovery Oriented Services (PROS) is a complete recovery program that brings rehabilitation, support, and clinical services together into one plan that supports a person's goals and hopes. The person collaborates with the rehabilitation practitioner to develop their Individual Recovery Plan (IRP). In the IRP the person sets a goal (or goals) and selects the best services to help attain this goal. The person sets the pace at which they wish to do this. This program allows the person to be in charge of their own recovery.

In 2007, HALI is the 1st in the U.S. to open a 98% Peer Run Mental Health Clinic. The mental health system recognizes that when individuals are involved in their own recovery; develop relationships with others who share the same experience, chances for recovery greatly increases. Since 2007 over 48% of participants decreased or eliminated dependency on public benefits, entered the job force or educational settings, and decreased crisis' and hospitalizations.

Frequently Asked Questions:
How do I receive services from PROS? Individuals who wish to receive PROS services must complete an initial screening, attend appointments with the Intake Coordinator, Program Coordinator and Psychiatrist and provide releases of information for HALI to obtain past records. Those records are reviewed and a determination is made. You can help expedite the process by picking up your own records and bringing them to HALI, as delays by previous treatment agencies to provide records can hold up the process significantly.
What happens after I am admitted to PROS? Once you are notified of admission, you will receive an appointment to complete an orientation classes which run for three days, 5 hours per day. During this time you will work on creating an initial goal plan, relapse prevention plan, a series of assessments and meeting with your assigned rehabilitation facilitator. Your rehabilitation facilitator will be your Coordinator of Care while you are in the PROS program. Your Rehabilitation Facilitator will collaborate with you to create your Individual Recovery Plan and assist you in choosing classes and services to meet the needs you have identified.
How long do I have to attend PROS? You choose to attend PROS and you choose how often you want to attend. When you feel you've attained your goals and/or when you wish to leave PROS is your decision. Should you want to leave PROS and have been receiving clinical services (such as therapy and medication management), we would strongly recommend that you make a plan to leave and not do so abruptly. Creating a plan to terminate services provides you with referrals to other treatment agencies, enough medication, if appropriate) to see you to your next doctor's appointment and a healthy way to end therapeutic relationships.
What services does the PROS program offer? PROS offers services to assist people in obtaining their goals. Services include symptom management, coping skills, relapse prevention, dual diagnosis services (mental health diagnosis with a chemical dependence diagnosis), family education, goal acquisition, intensive relapse prevention, community exploration, wellness plans, individual therapy, psychiatric services and physical wellness services to name a few. HALI PROS also offers holistic alternatives for wellness, such as Reiki, Chiropractic, Aroma therapy, relaxation techniques and other services to teach people to take control of their lives and create a life worth living.
What if I want to get off medication? No one is mandated to take medication. Medication is helpful to many to manage symptoms of their mental health condition. The psychiatrist is more than willing to help address your concerns about medication and their side effects as well as adjust them or help you discontinue medication. It is never a good idea to suddenly stop any medications as it frequently results in physical and psychological crisis. Always decrease medication under the supervision of a trained doctor.
Does PROS accept Medicaid? PROS does accept Medicaid. If you do not have Medicaid or have a "spend down", our billing and advocacy department can help you. The PROS program also has a sliding scale self pay plan based on your income.
